Example of Non-Personal Forms of the Verb

    Spanish Classes   /   by admin   /   July 04, 2021

The non-personal forms of the verb are the verb forms that do not express the grammatical person who performs the action. They are represented by the infinitive that works like noun, the participle that meets the adjective functions and the gerund which is used as adverb. They are called non-personal forms of the verb because they do not express by themselves the time in which the action occurs.

    The infinitive

In sentences, sometimes it has the character of a noun and other times its function is primarily verbal, its endings are ar, er, go.

    Infinitive example:

Subject: The walk Silent of that lady I liked.
Nominal predicate: Your responsibility for the moment is study.
Complement of a name: The machine of to write it's decomposed.
Complement of a verb: Tell your brother that he can happen.
Verb: When you arrived you did to laugh to all.

    The participle

It fulfills in the sentence, the functions of the verb, adjective and absolute participle. As a verb form, the participle joins the verb to have to form compound tenses, and to the verb to be to form the passive voice. Its endings are

adored, gone with their respective feminine and plural.

    Example of Participle:

Compound time: Joaquin has studied all night.
Passive form: That movie will be awarded by the jury.
Adjective: Study only the leaves noted.
Subordinate:Departure the merchandise, no claim is accepted.

    The gerund

Its function is to indicate a quality of the verb, or to indicate another action of the subject or direct object of the main sentence. Its endings are tondo, going

    Gerund example:

Adverb:He greeted his relatives always smiling.
Explanatory Subject: He walked quickly wanting Arrive first.
Direct complement: When I arrived, your mother was already preparing food.
