Example of Psychological Elements in Writing

    Drafting   /   by admin   /   July 04, 2021

Of the four psychological functions that Jung points out - sensation, intuition, feeling and thought - only one is clearly linguistic: thought. The feeling is bordering on the linguistic field, and the two considered irrational - sensation and intuition - escape this field. This means that when language is used, thought (or reason) is fully at work and, in some circumstances, also feeling.

In what way do these inner powers of man manifest themselves, within the communicative process? We know them as intention, reasoning, memory, power of decision, imagination, selective criteria, emotionality, attention and understanding. The inclinations or tastes and interests also come into play.
Since writing is a mode of communication through written language, it is fundamentally based on psychology. It is the product of a human mind, destined for another human mind.
As an interindividual practical realization, writing plays a very important role in relationships human: within the cultural, economic and social, it serves as an expressive vehicle for the most varied needs of man. Hence 'its functionality, a very modern term that contains an evident sense of service, adaptability and adequacy.

Therefore, to be truly functional, according to its objectives in each case, the writing must be based on modernity: it must be a product of the time for men of the time. We cannot continue to use formulas from fifty years ago, devoid of current meaning, if we want our writing reaches — or "hits," to use a buzzword — into the sensibilities of man contemporary. It is not logical to write business letters faithfully copying models from a manual and expecting to obtain results The same as those who make each writing a "personal message", according to the modern directives of psychology applied.
It is imperative that the question "For whom? "precede any act of the writing. This can be condensed into the motto that is the golden formula in human relationships:
The ALTER before the EGO. (Put you before me in all circumstances).
To do this, it is necessary to know that other, that you (ask yourself the problems: "who is he? ", "How is it? "," What interests you? "and others like it), in order to approach it according to your understanding possibilities and your needs. If we want them to capture and assimilate our ideas and intentions, we must make them reach the recipients in the way that this is easily achievable.
In short, adaptation to the reader is the basis of effective writing.
