    A right is a product or an item, either tangible or intangible, which is used in the satisfaction of a human need. Anything that benefits people's lives or is available for use is considered a good. For example: a car that is purchased for the purpose of commuting to work every day.

    The estate in society they are innumerable and of a different nature. Therefore, they have been categorized according to various variables such as their materiality, their function, their value, their property.

    Types of goods

    To take into account: A good can represent several characteristics and be placed in several categories at the same time.

    Depending on your ability to move

    • Property. They are those who are subject to the earth and, as their name indicates, cannot move, as this leads to the destruction of good. For example: a farm, a house, a building.
    • Movable property. They are those that can be moved from one place to another without losing value or ceasing to be what they were. When talking about movable property, we are also talking about private property, since the objects have an owner and this owner has power over it as long as he can verify that it belongs to him. For example:

    According to its materiality

    • Intangible goods. They are those that lack real or physical materiality. They are considered services, although intellectual property is also included, since certain ideas or forms of life are established on a purely mental plane to measure their value. For example: the creation of an opera.
    • Tangible goods. They are those that can be touched and felt due to their characteristics. They meet the conditions of economic goods and it is for this reason that they are traded on the market. For example: a painting, a dress.

    According to its degree of scarcity

    • free goods. They are those that are found in an unlimited way in the environment. For example: sunlight.
    • Enconimics goods. They are those whose quantity is restricted and are in the market, where they can be purchased commercially. For example: a high-tech computer.

    According to its functionality

    • Consumer goods. They are those that are used to satisfy needs in everyday life. Most people buy these types of goods, ranging from the food necessary to survive to luxury items. For example: fuel, clothing.
    • investment goods. They are those from which a return is expected when acquiring them, that is, a way to generate wealth and accumulate it. For example: a man who buys a second home so he can rent it and receive the rent.

    According to its degree of transformation

    • Intermediate goods. They are those that do not meet the sufficient requirements to satisfy the need for which they are conceived. They are the raw materials, which with the combination and the work on them, consumer goods are produced. For example: wood, plastic.
    • Final or finished goods. They are those who are completely finished and have the ability to fulfill their role in an excellent way. For example: a jacket, a car.

    Depending on your access

    • Public goods. They are those administered by political institutions, which offer services to all citizens. Public services are established as goods of all people. For example: a bridge.
    • private goods. They are those that have an owner who manages their use and employment. For example: a house in the beach.
    • privately owned property. They are those that are characterized because they are used or intended for commercial activities towards the general public, but retain a holder or owner who provides for their use. For example: a bar.

    according to income

    • luxury goods. They are those whose profitability is very high. Mainly those destined to the refinement of experiences by which more money can be raised are taken into account. For example: a five star cruise
    • essential goods. They are those of mass and habitual consumption. A clear example of this type of goods is the so-called “family basket” in some countries, which contains the elements that an average family buys frequently. For example: milk, bread.
    • inferior goods. They are those that are characterized by being of lower quality or products already used, which are more difficult to sell if the consumer begins to receive more money, since he will tend to get closer to luxury objects or that offer him more comfortability. For example: second-hand clothes.

    according to durability

    • perishable goods. They are those that deteriorate over time and, therefore, their use is conditioned by their duration. For example: fruits, dairy.
    • non-perishable goods. They are those that do not deteriorate in the near future and can be preserved for long periods. For example: wine, rice, pasta.

    according to the use

    • expendable goods. They are those that are used as a material of exchange or for sale without losing their value or their function in itself and are produced in series, so they can be replaced without problem. For example: a ticket.
    • Non-expendable property. They are those whose main characteristic is that they are unique and unrepeatable. For example: a tailored suit.
