Description Types

The description is a speech tool that allows the speaker to expose or make someone aware of a particular information about an object, a space, a situation, an idea, a person or a animal. For instance: María Laura is tall and has very full lips.

The descriptions offer specific and clear details of what you want to make known, in order to make it more credible and real for the person receiving such information. In turn, this representation differentiates the described object (or described subject) from the others. Therefore, the descriptions use a wide range of nouns and adjectives.

What are the types of description?

A description can be classified according to different criteria:

1. The lady was in her forties and had long curly hair. She seemed not to have bathed in a long time, from the smell that gave off her skin and her dark clothes. (objective description)
