    How do you say "casa" in English

    In Spanish we use the word house to refer to the place where we live, both in a restricted sense (the building or department), and in a broad sense (the neighborhood, the city or the country).

    In English there are two words to say house. When we talk about the property, (building, or construction that we generally inhabit), we use the word House.

    My house is in 21st Germany Street, in Brimingham.

    His house is built with volcanic rocks.

    In addition to House, there are other words to name some constructions and buildings that we inhabit:

    Flat - Department. Both forms mean department. Flat It is used mainly in the English of the United Kingdom, to refer both to an apartment and to an entire apartment that is owned or rented and in which one lives. Department is using in North American English with the same uses as the British flat:

    I'm from London. My flat is the 3C, in the 221B, Baker Street.

    Bungalow. This is how rustic houses are called, generally one-story, more or less spacious, and built of wood.

    We have a Bungalow near Chicago.

    Cottage. It is the rustic country house. Unlike the bungalow, the cottage is more rustic and can have more than one floor, in addition to being a room more focused on life in the country.

    Tent. It means a tent, the small tents where we sometimes take refuge on the nights we want to spend outdoors.

    When we speak of home in the broad sense, that is, of the place where we develop our life together, where we rest and live with the family, we use the word home, which also translates to home:

    We also use home in a broad sense, that is, when we talk about our neighborhood, city or country.

    After three months in Europe, Finally I come home.

    When we are in Mexico City, we feel in home.

    Some words derived from home are homeland (homeland); hometown (place of birth, place of origin); homeless (homeless, homeless, helpless); homelessness (helplessness, no place to live); homemaker (builder, contractor); homework (homework, homework.
