    Words Sdrújulas de Alimentos

    The esdrújulas words are those whose stressed syllable is the penultimate. We call stressed syllable to the strongest syllable within the word. The words esdrújulas always carry an accent. For example: brocoli, platanos.

    The other types of words, according to their stress, are the sharp (stressed on the last syllable), serious (stressed on the second to last syllable) and sobreesdrújulas (stressed on the syllable before the penultimate).

    21. Aloe. Also known as aloe vera, aloe is consumed as a juice because it is an important source of vitamins and minerals, as well as its beneficial effects on the digestive system.

    23. Tubers. They are the most common foods in our usual diet. These are potatoes, sweet potatoes, and other lesser known species such as goose, yam, tigernut and olluco.
    24. Snake. Although it is not a custom in our culture, the viper is a food in various countries. In Thailand it is so common that it is marketed in the streets, and also in Cambodia, where toast is sold. Viper meat is eaten fried in Vietnam and Indonesia. In Mexico it is consumed mainly for medicinal purposes.
