Example Sentences With Nouns And Adjectives

    Spanish Classes   /   by admin   /   July 04, 2021

Nouns are words that are used to name people, animals, things or our thinking. An adjective always accompanies a noun to tell us something about it. The relationship between adjectives and nouns is grammatically very close. The grammatical function of adjectives is to express qualities of the noun or, well, to determine it.

In the sentences with nouns and adjectives we can observe how the adjective can appear before or after the noun; in addition, there may be other kinds of intermediate words between the noun and the adjective. Sometimes the order in which the adjective and the noun appear may respond to a stylistic question or it may be because you want to make some shade of meaning.

    • "The white house (noun) (adjective) is for sale" or "The white house (adjective) house (noun) is for sale."
    • "Gregorio washed his new (adjective) car (noun)" or "Gregorio washed his new car (noun) (adjective)".

It is also possible that for the same noun there are two or more adjectives that qualify or determine it. For example, in the following sentences:

    instagram story viewer
    • There were two (adjective) people (noun) masked (adjective) suspicious (adjective) at the place.
    • The expected (adjective) and crowded (adjective) annual (adjective) dinner (noun) was a success.
